Our Plans for the Future
More than 40 Van Buren parents, educators, administrators, and community
leaders - The Van Buren School District Steering Committee - took a
comprehensive look at our schools in 2002. After months of on-site
evaluations to assess critical needs, consultation with architects
and administrators, and public surveys, the Committee revealed a 10-Year
Facilities Improvement Plan. The Van Buren School Board approved the
priority plan for each school in May and called for an election to
fund the building plan.
On September 16th, the citizens of Van Buren have an opportunity to
say "YES" and provide our children with educational facilities for
the 21st Century. Click here to view Facilities

Our Schools
With an eye to the future, our 10-Year Facilities Improvement Plan
funded by a 3.9 millage increase will update and/or expand existing
space at every school in Van Buren to accommodate an every growing
student body. The three-phased plan meets critical needs first and
addresses safety issues and federally mandated requirements. The Van
Buren School District has not received a millage increase since 1996.
Our Future
Van Buren School District has a proud tradition of excellence - a Top
10 National School of Character, award-winning music programs, and
academic and athletic championship achievements. Great schools build
great futures for our children, and attract industries and businesses
to our area strengthening the entire community.
It's a simple equation: Our Schools + Our Kids = Our Future
