Athletics Schedule and Information

Van Buren School District works to ensure athletic eligibility to comply with both the state and district requirements, as well as providing the best insurance program to cover school athletics. Providing proper equipment to ensure the safety of our students, and promoting an environment of high expectations is our daily objectives.

Football/Soccer (Blakemore Field):
From I-40 east, take the I-540 exit #7 for Van Buren/Fort Smith. Take Exit 2A to Van Buren, going west on Hwy 64 (right). At the first stop light, take a right on Alma Blvd. Go thru 2 4-way stops then the visitors’ field house will be the first building on the left
when you get to the field

Volleyball/Basketball (Clair Bates Arena):
From I-40 east, take Exit #5 (Van Buren/Hwy 59), take left onto Hwy 59, go under I-40 and turn left at 2nd light onto Pointer Trail for 1 mile. The arena is to the east of VBHS which is on your left.

Baseball (Field of Dreams):
From I-40 east, take Exit #3 (Lee Creek); take left, go over I-40 and then take left at Field of Dreams sign. Go thru the ticket booth and stay to the right along the water, the varsity field is the last field at the end of the road.

Softball/Tennis/Track:
From I-40 east, take Exit #5 (Van Buren/Hwy 59), take left onto Hwy 59, go under I-40 and turn left at 2nd light onto Pointer Trail for almost 1 mile. All 3 facilities are together. The ticket gate is to the east of the tennis courts to both the softball field which is to the left and the track to the right. Bus parking is usually across the street at Heritage Methodist Church.

Butterfield Junior High:
Football - all games played at Blakemore Field
Basketball/Volleyball - from I-40 east, take the I-540 exit #7 to Van Buren/Fort Smith. Take Exit 2A right onto Hwy 64, go thru 4 lights and then turn right on N. 13th street at Williams Florist. Go 4 blocks to Poplar street, take a left then another left into circle drive of BJH, the gym is on the right.
Track - all junior high meets held at VBHS track

Coleman Junior High:
Football - all games played at Blakemore Field
Basketball/Volleyball - from I-40 east, take Exit #5 to Van Buren (Hwy 59). Go left and
then under I-40, turning left at the 2nd light on Pointer Trail. Go .2 miles, CJH is
on the left and the gym is the first entrance to the building across the back of the
school.
Track - all junior high meets held at VBHS track
