On behalf of the faculty and staff of J.J. Izard Elementary, I would like to welcome you to our website. We believe in promoting high standards and a positive class environment. We have very high expectations for our students and teachers. We use the phrase “No Excuses” very often at Izard. Every student deserves the very best.

Izard Elementary is involved with several programs such as Great Expectations, Reading Recovery, ELLA, ESL, and the Character Education Program. We are a state and national leader in Character Education. Izard was one of ten character schools in the nation to be recognized as a National School of Character. Our ESL program is also very strong. In our program, Izard Elementary, has at least one ESL certified teacher at every grade level.

Izard provides students with the opportunities to not only grow academically, but to grow as an individual as well. This philosophy inspires the school motto, “Living to Learn, Learning to Live”
