Life Skills in the Real World

Students from the special education classes at Van Buren's Freshman Academy are learning all about "Life Skills in the Real World," thanks to a grant from the Van Buren Education Foundation. The students recently took a field trip to Oliver's Kitchen in downtown Van Buren, where they practiced ordering from a menu and paying for their meal. Teachers Anna Booth and Sarah Stokes hope to build upon the program's success by adding more trips and outings for their students. Read all about the group's recent experience in the Times Record.
