Counselor's Corner

Classroom Guidance: All classrooms will have character lessons throughout the school year. Topics include but are not limited to respect, responsibility, getting along with others, bullying, careers, problem-solving, compassion, tolerance/acceptance, and drug free education.

Small groups: Small groups are offered to all classes as need arises. The groups may focus on friendship, anger management, loss, changing families, or other topics that are requested.

Individual Counseling: Students can be seen individually to help with short term issues affecting their ability to learn in the classroom. If longer term counseling is needed, parents/guardians may elect to seek help from outside resources.

Cougar Council: 4th and 5th grade students are encouraged to run for Cougar Council (student council). Representatives are elected from each 4th and 5th grade classroom. Throughout the year, representatives are engaged in various leadership roles, including a district wide leadership day that focuses on team building and leadership activities.
