Letter From The Superintendent

It is truly an honor to serve as superintendent of the Van Buren School District.

Our goals in Van Buren are to meet the needs of all children, to ensure that every student reaches his or her full potential, and to pledge that our graduates are prepared for life, learning, and leadership as they enroll in college and/or enter the workforce. In addition to receiving a high quality education, our students are offered a rich array of opportunities in the arts, athletics and activities.

Our school system garners tremendous support in the community and is seen as the Pride of Van Buren!  VBSD’s reputation of success is known throughout the state as we serve as a model for a variety of programs and initiatives.

Academic quality is at the forefront.  Van Buren has highly qualified and dedicated faculty and staff who believe in the extraordinary potential of all of our nearly 6,000 students.  As a result, the children of our school system are presented with the opportunity to receive a world-class education. VBSD values 21st century learning, knowledge and skills that include critical thinking, problem solving, communication, collaboration, creativity and innovation. These skills are integrated throughout our curriculum and are essential for children to succeed in college and careers.

If you are moving to our region of the state and looking for a great home for your child, look no further.  Contact me at harold.jeffcoat@vbsd.us or 479-474-7942 to schedule a tour of our facilities.  Give us an opportunity to share why so many love the Van Buren School District.
