Pointer Prize Patrol awards more than $23,000 in grants

April 7 was an exciting day in the Van Buren School District as the famous "Pointer Prize Patrol" surprised educators with more than $23,000 in grants from the Van Buren Education Foundation.

Seventeen grants were awarded for varying amounts at a total of nine campuses throughout the District. 

The Van Buren School District Education Foundation was created to support educational programs for both the students and staff of VBSD. Grants are awarded for programs and activities which either have not been funded or have been underfunded by the normal operating budget. The Foundation has awarded a total of $891,409.33 since its inception in 2001.
