VBSD to host Crawford County Spelling Bee January 20

Students from throughout the region will compete for the title of top speller at the Crawford County Spelling Bee on January 20, 2024.

Hosted by the Van Buren School District, the competition will be held at the Van Buren Fine Arts Center beginning at 9 a.m. Participants consist of students who placed in the top four at their school's preliminary spelling bee. The winner of the Crawford County Bee will advance to the State Competition, which will take place in Little Rock, on March 9.

The Scripps National Spelling Bee is the nation's largest and longest-running educational promotion, administered on a not-for-profit basis.  State level winners qualify to compete at the National Spelling Bee, which is held each May in Washington, D.C.

Admission to watch the Crawford County Spelling Bee is free and open to the public.
