Welcome Future Pointer!

We are excited to welcome you to the Van Buren School District. The new student enrollment process can be completed online using the PowerSchool Portal. In addition to completing the application, you will be asked to upload documents such as a copy of your child’s shot record; birth certificate; social security card; and proof of address. (Ex. utility bill)

Parents enrolling incoming Kindergarteners may refer to the letters below for additional registration details.

For other enrollment information, please contact the school your child is zoned to attend (see principal emails below) or the VBSD Administration Office at 479-474-7942.

VBSD New Student Registration Instructions

1) To begin, you will need to know the school your child is zoned to attend.

To confirm your school zone, click HERE and type your physical address.

If you require additional assistance, please contact VBSD Administration at (479) 474-7942.

2) Next, enroll your student using the PowerSchool online registration site.

You will need a valid email address to create an account and register your student.

Please have the following documents when registering:

o Birth record
o Social security card
o Parent ID
o Proof of Residency
o New Kindergarten students should also have a Kindergarten physical.

If you are registering your new student (any grade) for the current school year, use the Powerschool links below.

3) Once you have submitted the PowerSchool registration information, sign the required enrollment documents using your electronic signature.

Go to www.VBSD.us and select Schools at the top of the page.

On your selected school’s page, click the Readysign link.

Sign and submit the required documents.

4) Once you have completed both the PowerSchool enrollment and Readysign processes, please contact your child’s school for further instructions.

Kindergarten Registration

Image title Kindergarten students for the 2023-2024 school year must turn five years of age on or before August 1, 2023. Parents must submit the following: a copy of their child’s shot record; birth certificate; social security card; proof of address; and proof of a physical exam from a doctor dated within the past two years.

To date, Arkansas law requires the following immunizations: four DTap and three Polio doses, one of which is received after the child’s fourth birthday; one Hepatitis A, on or after the first birthday; three Hepatitis B; two MMRs, one of which is received after the first birthday, and two Varicella (Chicken Pox) vaccines, one of which is received after the first birthday.
